Trapped
I was in first year of engineering college at Bidar and I had a friend Anmol singh who was known for the fact that he would anyhow get his work done either by doing it himself or by others either by hook or crook by trapping others in such a situation that his effort would never go waste and there would be some effective end result to his plan. One day I and my room partner, Dhillon were about to have a nice afternoon nap just after having a lunch. I went towards the door to close it so that no one disturbs us for another hour. I saw Anmol approaching towards our room. I told Dhillon about it hearing which he immediately took the bed sheet and covered his body with his face tucked inside saying that he is asleep and handed over the situation to me to handle. By that time Anmol had already seen me from the partially open door and started running raising his hand to indicate me that he has seen me and I should not close the door. As he reached our room he asked me,
“Where are you going?
I said,” I am going to the market for some work”, so that he does not bother me with any of his work here as I am out of the hostel for him”
“Then please get me these two books and I will pay you when you return back,” he replied immediately.
“I mean I am not going right now as I will go after some time after having a short nap”, I said to avoid doing the work requested by him.
I also requested him to give his work to someone else if he requires it so urgently so that he does not mind my words.
“Since you are not going anywhere then in that case kindly give me your bike,” he said crisply and clearly.
“Trapped” I said to myself and handed over the bike keys to him.
After closing the door I could hear chuckles of Dhillon from inside the bed sheet.
